Currently: My Favorite Snacks

I decided to keep this week’s post lighthearted and simple. Like many, I am on a never-ending road to being the healthiest that I can be. And honestly, this is a journey full of ups and downs. Striking the perfectly balanced diet has proven to be one of my struggles. Temptation is everywhere and food is just. SO. GOOD. I look forward to my cheat days (which have been pretty frequent lately…yikes!). So, here are a few of my current favorite snacks.

Spoiler: I threw in a healthy option.

Sweet & Salty Popcorn

My tastebuds go crazy for a sweet and salty snack. And this is it! Specifically, Boom Chicka Pop’s Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn. Although normally I’m not that into popcorn, expect for at the movies, the crunchiness and opposing flavors of this popcorn take me for loop every time.

Milk Tea

Tea shops are everywhere in my neighborhood and I may or may not have been taste testing at multiple locations. I’m living for a 100% sweetness, light ice Thai milk tea. The tapioca balls at the bottom of the drink make it that much better. I’m usually funny about different textures, but I love them. With all of the toppings and drink options, ordering at a tea shop can be a fun experience.

Fresh Spring Rolls

Vegetables spring rolls are a must for me. Basil, mint, carrots, glass noodles and a nice peanut dipping sauce. Voila! The key to a good spring roll is fresh ingredients. Last year I took a cooking class in Chiang Mai, Thailand and made my own authentic Thai basil rolls. After that, I felt like I unlocked another level of foodie because…wow.

Korean Cheese Corn Dog

If there are two things that I love, it would be: cheese and bread. Korean cheese corn dogs bring the two together perfectly. It’s literally a corn dog full of mozzarella cheese. You can get Korean corn dogs with cheese and sausage, but I stick to cheese only. After it’s done cooking, they roll the whole thing in sugar. It’s a lot, but it’s so good.

Lemon Squares

If you really know me, then you know I love lemon squares. Come on, a quality lemon square is unmatched. I will say, from the tart/sweet balance to the texture of the filling to the crust…it has to be done correctly. There is a fine line between a ‘smack ya momma’ lemon square and a ‘what is this’ lemon square. Wow, is my mouth watering?

So, I definitely was hungry when I decided to write a post about my favorite snacks and I think I’m going to go get a milk tea RIGHT NOW. Are you a fan of these current favorites of mine? Let me know down below!

Have an awesome week and see you next Monday at 11am EST!
